An Actual “Barbenheimer” Horror Movie Is In The Works

Founder of Full Moon Features, Charles Band will be producing a “Barbenheimer” movie. With the name being based on the simultaneous release of the “Barbie” movie and “Oppenheimer.” Two films that are worlds apart aesthetically and created a cultural phenomenon the box office.

Both movies earned Warner Bros. and Universal billions at the box office and in brand deals. With “Barbie” in particular grossing over a billion and shattering several box office records. Now the legendary B-movie company Full Moon is stepping up to cash in on the meme.

The film will be, fittingly, set deep within Dollsville. Where a group of fed-up female dolls – led by the brilliant Dr. Barbenheimer – build an atomic bomb. Their mission? To bring down the patriarchy once and for all! But as the battle of the sexes swells, will Barbenheimer and her bevy of beauties end up blowing up more than they bargained for? Comedy, drama, action and Armageddon erupt in Full Moon’s latest freaked out fantasy film, BARBENHEIMER!

Full Moon was already known for doll horror like the Band-created “Puppet Master” franchise and “Demonic Toys.” So something like this seems well within the company’s wheelhouse. And in Full Moon fashion production on this movie is already racing forward for an anticipre Christmas release on Prime Video.

“Barbenheimer” is also striking while the iron is hot on the current twisted childrens tales trend in horror. Which already includes Winnie-the-Pooh, Bambi, Sleeping Beauty, Peter Pan, and 2 different Cinderella films. While those movies are based on characters that have entered the public domain, Full Moon shouldn’t have any legal troubles on this project. Given that the term “Barbenheimer” is not trademarked, for the sake of internet culture, we hope it stays that way.

We’ll keep you posted on “Barbenheimer” updates as they become available.
