The team behind the upcoming “Cinderella’s Curse” is adding another classic fairy tale turned horror movie to its repertoire with “Sleeping Beauty’s Massacre.” This new film will be produced and directed by Louisa Warren (“Cinderella’s Curse”), with Jasmine Ebony Thomas (“Easter Bunny Massacre: The Bloody Trail”) writing the script.
This will add yet another film to the ever-growing fairy tale horror movie subgenre. Which currently includes Winnie the Pooh, Bambi, The Grinch, Peter Pan, and two different Cinderella films. “Sleeping Beauty’s Massacre,” is currently shooting in Scotland, but ChampDog Films has already released some bloody first-look images.

The film will tell the story of the beautiful Princess Thalia (Lora Hristova) who is thrown to ruins after her father’s mysterious death. She lives with Prince Edison, who she loves but can no longer marry since losing her status. Queen Velma wants the kingdom for herself and will use her dark powers, and use of the occult, to take over by any means necessary. Velma casts Thaila into a deep sleep to never wake, till one day she does and her web of lies starts to fall around her. A violent twist after twist with gory and graphic deaths will ensue.
Along with Hristova the cast for “Sleeping Beauty’s Massacre” includes Benedict Clarke, Sophie Rankin, Charlotte Coleman, and Yvonne Curwen.

“This film will flip everything as you know it on its head,” Warren said. “It is savage, dark and utterly horrifying. I am setting out to create the most uncomfortable horror experience to date. There will be lies, gore and a big massacre. If you look back at the original material there is so much to play with.”

“This movie has taken everything back to the gritty origins,” Hristova said. “There are truly horrific, gut wrenching moments.”
ITN Studios will be distributing the upcoming horror movie. The company is planning for a 2023 release. We’ll keep you posted on updates about “Sleeping Beauty’s Massacre” as they become available.
