“Cobra Kai” Season 5 Getting Physical DVD Release

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has set physical DVD release date for Netflix’s “Cobra Kai!” This physical media release will include all 10 episodes along with bonus features like deleted/extended scenes, and a blooper reel.

Season 5 of “Cobra Kai” takes place after the dojo wins the All Valley Tournament in Season 4. A victory that is won because Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) cheated. To make good on their deal with Silver and John Kreese (Martin Kove), Daniel (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny (William Zabka) have to close their respective dojos.

This allows Silver to continue his plan to franchise Cobra Kai, by opening up more dojos, slowly taking over the Valley. While Johnny wants to throw in the towel and move on, Daniel refuses to give up. So he enlists the help of his once foe, now friend Chozen (Yuji Okumoto) to help bring Silver down.

In January, a 6th and final season of the series was confirmed. While no plot details have been released, it’s assumed that the last season will tie up several loose ends. Namely, what will happen to the Cobra Kai kids without a dojo, after Johnny, Daniel, Chozen, and their kids stopped Silver.  What will happen to Kreese after he escaped prison? As well as what will happen with Johnny and his girlfriend Carmen (Vanessa Rubio), who are expecting a baby.

While writing for season 6 was already underway, the WGA strike put a halt to that. With the added SAG-AFTRA strike, most productions are currently put on pause.

“Cobra Kai” season 5 will hit DVD on September 12th. The set is already available for pre-order from various retailers. Seasons 1-5 are currently streaming on Netflix.
