“Stranger Things” Stage Play May Reveal Key Season 5 Hints

“Stranger Things” season 5 might not come as soon as fans would hope. Due to the writer’s strike, work on the series has been put on hold. That doesn’t, however, mean we’ll have to wait for more lore from the Upside-Down, Vecna, and how things truly began. Netflix has shared a teaser for “Stranger Things: The First Shadow,” a stage play which may hold clues and answers for what’s to come in Season 5.

    The Origin of a Nightmare

“The First Shadow” will take place in 1959, before the births of Mike and his friends. Even before Eleven. What we will see, however, is the life of a young Henry, otherwise known as One, or Vecna, and the discovery of his powers that led to the torment and eventual murder of his family. We already know that he quickly bored of the lack of power in those around him. Season 4 was extremely forthcoming with his origin story. So there’s plenty of curiosity concerning what more can be explored with the stage play.

The play will feature some familiar faces, though. Including a young Jim Hopper, Joyce Maldonado, and Bob Newby. There’s not much more we can tell you past the teaser. What we can tell you is “The First Shadow“ will open in London’s West End by the end of the year. So we won’t have to wait long for answers and reviews to come spilling forth.

As for season 5, obviously any and all involved are tight-lipped. Some might even say contractually obligated to share nothing. But what we do know is that Linda Hamilton, of “Terminator” fame will be joining the cast in an as yet undetermined role. Though, given Hamilton’s film history, she may be a last minute bad-ass to add to the group, who has maybe tracked the progress of the Upside-Down and is fully prepared for the apocalypse.
