Does legendary cryptid the Loch Ness Monster have a friend? A new video may suggest it does! The mystical monsters were spotted via a live webcam feed of the loch that is maintained by Visit Inverness Loch Ness (VILN).
The ‘pair’ were spotted by Nessie hunter Eoin O’Faodhagain at Shoreland Lodges, near Fort Augustus on the loch’s southern shore. He was monitoring the live feed when he saw a dark figure that he estimates to be 30 feet long.
Within the hour he noticed two different humps in the water that appeared to be moving away from each other. “It is obvious that the two Nessie-like humps are moving over a two-minute period, and the larger hump of the two has changed position from the smaller one,” O’Faodhagain said. “Given the fact that there is no disturbance of water visible between objects you would have to concur they are two separate moving creatures.”
He also believes the scale of the first dark shape in the water supports his Loch Ness Monster theory. “What animal could be that long,” he asks. Plus the existence of two monsters would explain the wildly different descriptions of its appearance. “What is strikingly obvious about sightings at Loch Ness is that eyewitnesses could be viewing two different creatures coexisting in the one lake,” he added.
O’Faodhagain should know, considering he already has several entries in the Official Loch Ness Monster Sightings Register. This particular sighting has yet to be recorded due to a change in the rules earlier this year regarding webcam sightings. O’Faodhagain is possibly one of the most prolific sources of webcam sightings of the Loch Ness Monster.
But he still hasn’t ruled out a more concrete explanation for the footage. “What we do know is there are a hell of a lot of eels in Loch Ness, having the odd rogue giant one is not beyond the realm of reality.”
