We Tried Dr Pepper’s New Flavor Strawberries and Cream

It killed me that this news was under embargo until today, because when I had my first sip of Dr Pepper’s new flavor I immediately wanted to tell you about it. Their newest flavor, Strawberries and Cream launches nationwide today in both regular and zero sugar versions. I tried their zero sugar, and I had my husband try their regular, and I’ve got to say we were both incredibly impressed.

In my 20s when we were first married, we used to get those two liters you’d find at the store. You know the ones with all kinds of flavors like grape, apple and strawberry? Depending on where you go the store’s brand name differs so I won’t get into particulars of which ones they were, but one of our favorites has always been strawberry. These new Dr Pepper’s are not only delicious and bubbly but also scratched that nostalgic itch for us. The new flavor is the original 23 flavor notes of Dr Pepper swirled with layers of refreshing strawberry flavor and a smooth, creamy finish.

Dr Pepper Strawberries & Cream Regular will be offered in 12 oz. 12 packs and 20 oz. bottles, and Dr Pepper Strawberries & Cream Zero Sugar will be offered in 12 oz. 12 packs. This latest flavor innovation from Dr Pepper will be the only strawberry and cream flavored dark soda in the market today.

“Our expert team of flavor scientists are constantly innovating to bring to life new varieties that will surprise and delight treat seekers and our existing dedicated fans,“ said Senior Vice President of Dr Pepper Brand Marketing John Alvarado. “Dr Pepper Strawberries & Cream is an exciting evolution for our brand’s flavor portfolio as it joins our permanent lineup alongside popular varieties such as Dr Pepper Cream Soda and Dr Pepper Zero Sugar. We can’t wait for people to try this delicious new treat!”

This drink might be the reason I go back to drinking soda. I had been pretty good about just drinking water since the new year but I tell you what, this flavor is totally worth having a treat once in a while.
