When Tobey Maguire took on the mantle of Spider-Man, many fans were excited. That was back in the day when instead of limited screenings the night before, there were midnight screenings in theaters. If you wanted to be first to see a film, you got your butt in line and waited in the cold with your pajamas on to see the movie. Or at least, that’s what I did for the first three “Spider-Man” films starring Maguire. Let me tell you- when the third movie came out and he did that little dance, the theater was wild.

With “Spider-Man: No Way Home,“ Maguire was offered the opportunity to be in a fourth film. He says he’d love to do more. The reason his Spider-Man career came to a halt wasn’t because he wanted to quit being the web slinging super hero, but because of creative differences between director Sam Raimi and Sony Pictures. Which is really a shame, considering Raimi’s “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” was so damn good.
“I was like finally! I got the call and was immediately open about coming to do this,” Maguire revealed. “Not without nerves – you know, ‘What will this look like and what will the experience be?’ But to get to show up with beautiful, talented, creative people and play together? It’s just like, ‘Yes!” It’s fun and exciting.’ I love these films and I love all of the different series, If these guys called me and said, ‘Would you show up tonight to hang out and goof around?’ or ‘Would you show up to do this movie or read a scene or do a Spider-Man thing?’ it would be a ‘yes!’ Because why wouldn’t I want to do that?”

The book, “Spider-Man No Way Home: The Official Movie Special,” goes deep into the making of the film. You can pick up a copy here.
