20 Years Later, “Blue’s Clues” Host Reunites with Make-A-Wish Recipient

Remember when former “Blue’s Clues” host Steve Burns said how proud of us he is? Remember how we all found it super touching? Yeah, he somehow just one-upped himself in the super-emotional reunion department.

While Burns was making an appearance at Steel City Con in Pennsylvania, he was approached by Brandon Ragland. Like any other fan, Ragland walked up to the actor’s booth, shook his hand, but then he pulled out a picture of the two of them from 2000. The photo was taken when Ragland first met the “Blue’s Clues” star through the Make-A-Wish foundation. When he was just 4 years old, Ragland was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in his kidneys and lungs. His wish included meeting Burns for dinner at Serendipity 3 in New York City, a Toys “R” Us shopping spree, and tickets to “Blue’s Clues Live.”

Upon seeing the photo, Burns’ eyes lit up as he exclaimed “I remember this and you!” Ragland is now 25 with a family and has been in remission for 23 years. Burns still remembers him as a wild child running around the restaurant despite his ailment.

Of course, Burns asked Ragland for a new picture together where they are both sporting tears of joy. And if that weren’t touching enough, Ragland says Burns pulled him in for a hug and said, “This made my entire year and I’m so glad you’re here.” Since then the pair have been staying in touch via social media where Burns keeps telling him how proud he is. The cancer survivor describes him as “One of the nicest and most genuine people I’ve had the pleasure to meet.” Adding “I think he might been more moved than I was over the whole ordeal.”
