Keke Palmer’s Bid to Play Rogue in X-Men Continues

Actress Keke Palmer’s (“Nope“) meta and irreverent brand of humor has really resonated with fans. So much so there is now a campaign to get her cast as Rogue in any upcoming Marvel Studios‘ MCU projects.

    “Nope,” Universal Pictures

Rogue is an X-Men character, with the ability to absorb/remove the memories, physical strength, and superpowers of anyone she touches. She first appeared in 1981’s “Avengers Annual #10” comic as a villain, and initially views her Mutant abilities as a curse. Eventually coming around to see them as more of a gift and joining the group of heroes/anti-heroes.

When asked if this fan-casting had generated any real talks, Palmer had the perfect response. “That’s confidential, sugar,” she said. “No, I’m kidding. I don’t know. I just know that the fans, the way that the fans have me booked, honey, online, I got to do a gig every week.”

She did say she’d be open to the opportunity. “So if we’re adding Marvel to it, hey, let’s do it. I’m ready for Rogue.”

Well, Palmer absolutely understood the assignment, and treated fans to a pretty amazing cosplay. “You had a request,” she said, showing us that trademark smart-assery once again. One of these images is a fan poster for “X-Men Origins: Rogue” which we now need to see become a reality.

She also posted a video. It shows her dressed as the character, doing typical superhero stuff like shooting lasers out of her eyes. At least until a bad line of dialogue causes her to break character and walk off to her trailer. The caption once again showed off her dedication to her fans saying “There’s nothing I won’t do for you guys!” Assuring them that “In your Marvel Universe, I’ll always be Rogue.”

While this is clearly not an official announcement that she has been cast it is certainly making her interests known. Marvel fans seem to be right there with her that this is the Rogue we all deserve!
