Netflix has unveiled six new posters for their upcoming animated Sonic the Hedgehog series, as well as a December release date. While rumors about a new Sonic series have been circling for nearly two years, Netflix has officially revealed “Sonic Prime” will be premiering on the streaming service later this year.
Netflix also unveiled character posters for Sonic, Amy Rose, Shadow, Knuckles, Rouge, Big the Cat (and Froggy), and the big bad Eggman. No word yet on whether fan-favorite Miles “Tails” Prower will appear, but it’s safe to assume he’ll be there too.
Fans of the Sonic franchise have definitely enjoyed a resurgence of great material over the last few years, particularly in the wake of two movies, a remastered bundle of four classic Sonic games, an upcoming 3D platformer due to arrive on November 8th, and of course plenty of new merchandise to support the franchise.
“Sonic Prime” will premiere December 15th, with 24 episodes featuring everyone’s favorite blue blur.
