Blink-182 have announced the original lineup is back together for a new single, and a world tour. Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker will reunite with Tom DeLonge for the first time since 2015. The band has really “come together,” the double-entendre-laced announcement video says.
DeLonge left the band in 2015, and Alkaline Trio’s Matt Skiba replaced him as lead guitarist on the band’s last two albums; 2016’s California and 2019’s NINE. Bassist Hoppus spent most of last year battling lymphoma. Apparently his diagnosis is what prompted Hoppus and DeLonge to reconnect. In an interview, Hoppus explained that the trio had spent time together before his chemo began, saying the band is in a really great place right now. “I keep writing music, and I’m open to whatever the next phase of Blink is… I’m hopeful for the future. I’m just damn glad to be here,” he said.

The world tour will include dates in North America, South America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand from March 2023 through February 2024. For the North American leg, Baltimore-based hardcore punk band Turnstile will be opening for them. Other opening acts will include Wallows, The Story So Far, and Rise Against. Blink-182 is also set to headline Lollapalooza’s Latin American festivals in Argentina, Chile, and Brazil. Blink-182 will also be returning to the When We Were Young Festival in Las Vegas.
Tickets go on sale October 17th at 10:00am via Ticketmaster. But if you’re in North America, a Live Nation pre-sale is set for October 13th at 10:00am using the access code PUMPKIN.
In the same video, Blink-182 also announced a new single “Edging,” which will release October 14th. They even give us a small taste of what it will sound like in the video as well.
