Balenciaga, high-end fashion house known for selling ridiculous items for exorbitant amounts of money, have released a new product that’s bound to make you rethink your fashion standards. The Trash Pouch was first introduced on the runway for Paris Fashion Week in March, and will be part of Balenciaga’s winter line. It’s basically a hefty bag, but fashionable.

The Trash Pouch will cost €1,400 EUR ($1,790 USD). It comes in typical trash bag colors of black and white, as well as blue and yellow. Perfect for sorting your trash, compost, and recyclables?
Not surprising those online who’ve seen the bag are tearing holes into the product, figuratively. The brand has also released bags that were similar in style to the 99 cent IKEA bags, with a new price tag of $2,000.
This is a real thing. It looks uncomfortable to hold. Honestly reminds me of being a teenager and having to schlep around my stuff when I went to spend the night at a friend’s house. And, it’s insulting to people who’ve had to live out of trash bags, like the homeless and foster kids.
Is Balenciaga completely out of touch with reality? Judging by their target audience– possibly.
