This just in-
it would appear that Sharon Stone has exited Warner Bros. Pictures’ upcoming DC Comics film “Blue Beetle.” She had originally been announced as playing the villain.
INSTEAD, we’re going to see Oscar winning actress Susan Sarandon as Victoria Kord!
“Cobra Kai” star Xolo Maridueña has been tapped to play Jaime Reyes, aka Blue Beetle. Bruna Marquezine and Belissa Escobedo have also been confirmed to be joining the cast. Marquezine will play Penny, Jaime’s main squeeze and love interest. Escobedo will play Milagros, Jamie’s younger sister. Harvey Guillén (“What We Do In The Shadows“) is also on cast, but we don’t know who he’s playing yet.
With a script from Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer (“Miss Bala”), Angel Manuel Soto (“Charm City Kings“) will direct “Blue Beetle“ for Warner Bros. Pictures. This will mark the first feature film starring a Latino superhero, based on a comic book character.
“Blue Beetle” has a current release date set for August 18th, 2023. We’ll let you know what else we hear about this and other projects.
