Hot on the heels of Play Doh, Flamin’ Hot Cheetos and more- Spirit Halloween is getting a movie. Yup- the annual spooky season superstore is the next odd business to get a biopic. We’re not sure who in their right mind came up with this idea, but it’s happening.
According to the usual sources, Christopher Lloyd and Rachael Leigh Cook will star. They will be joined by Donavan Colan, Dylan Frankel, Jaiden Smith, Marissa Reyes, and Marla Gibbs.
David Poag will direct from a script by Billie Bates.
The official logline reads:
“When a new Spirit Halloween store appears in a deserted strip mall, three middle-school friends who think they’ve outgrown trick-or-treating make a dare to spend the night locked inside the store Halloween night. But they soon find out that the store is haunted by an angry evil spirit who has possessed the creepy animatronic characters. The kids embark on a thrilling and spooky adventure in order to survive the night and avoid becoming possessed themselves.”
“Spirit Halloween” is hoping for an October 2022 release. We’ll let you know what we hear about a likely home for the flick.
