Keanu Reeves is a treasure of a human. Not only is he charming, but he’s also a kind person. He’s also one of the more memeable stars still churning out blockbusters. During a recent stop by “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” to promote “The Matrix Resurrections,” the subject of a fairly popular meme came up.
While discussing Reeves‘ graphic novel “BRZRKR,” Colbert brought out a photo of the iconic sad Keanu meme.
“We’re all familiar with sad Keanu,” Colbert starts. “I’m just eating a sandwich,” Reeves interrupts while laughing.

“Soooo you’re not actually sad in ‘sad Keanu’?”
“I was thinkin’. I had some stuff going on. I was hungry. Yeah. So. Life in art.”
Reeves goes on to explain that “BRZRKR” artist Ron Garney added the meme-like panel unbeknownst to the “John Wick” star.
Reeves will star in an adaptation of the graphic novel, which is heading to Netflix. Mattson Tomlin, who wrote Matt Reeves‘ upcoming Dark Knight film “The Batman,” is penning the script for “BRZRKR.”
“The Matrix Resurrections” is due in theaters and HBO Max on December 22nd, 2021.
