I never wanted to grow up. I’m a Toys R Us kid after all. When news broke that they were going out of business a lot of us TRU kids were shattered. Our past selves crying because the place we used to love to spend our tooth fairy money was now gone. Well I have some very good news! There’s a light at the end of the tunnel.

Macy’s is building Toys R Us Toy Stores inside more than 400 of their retail locations nationwide. Now we will finally be able to go back and discover things that either we, or our kids can enjoy, including the latest craze like an original dancing cactus toy.

The news came via both Macy’s and Toys R Us websites. You can actually buy toys on both under the TRU umbrella.

Nata Dvir, Chief Merchandising Manager of Macy’s, had this to say:

“As a Toys R Us kid, I could not be more excited to bring this beloved brand that so many of our customers know and love into Macy’s online and to our stores across America. … Our toy business grew exponentially in the past year. With many families looking to inspire their children’s imagination and create meaningful moments together. Toys R Us is a globally recognized leader in children’s toys and our partnership allows Macy’s to significantly expand our footprint in that category, while creating more occasions for customers to shop with us across their lifestyles.”

These Toys R Us Toy Stores will be rolling out and able to be shopped in by 2022. Customers will be welcomed by Geoffrey the Giraffe at these locations. After being greeted kids will be able to discover and play across dedicated sections by age, interest and category. There will be interactive experiences, activation centers and iconic elements throughout.
