We’re no strangers to odd ice cream flavors. Remember, when mustard, ketchup, and even mayo ice cream became a thing? Well, now it’s time for another surprising flavor. Kraft Heinz, partnered with Brooklyn-based Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, has just debuted Mac & Cheese Ice Cream! A definitely unique dessert, perfect to combat the summer heat.
The limited edition ice cream flavor dropped on July 14th, which is National Macaroni & Cheese Day, and has already attracted thousands of ice cream and mac & cheese fans alike. The sweet treat has no artificial flavors, preservatives, or dyes, and includes Kraft’s very own cheese sauce mix.
“If this reminds you of the ice cream you grew up with, you might be out of your mind. If this reminds you of the comforting bowl of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese you grew up with, you’re getting warmer.”
Van Leeuwen
If you’re looking to tap into your adventurous side and want to try out this new flavor, Van Leeuwen has made it available for purchase through their website, vanleeuwenicecream.com, while supplies last. Their new mix is priced at $12 a pint. Currently, they are sold out of the Macaroni & Cheese flavor, but their site features tons of enticing flavors. Honey Comb, Wild Blueberry Shortcake, and Sicilian Pistachio ice cream are just a few of the other flavors they have to offer.
Or if you are in the NYC, L.A., or Houston areas, you can find the new concoction at any of the Van Leeuwen stores.
