New “Mad Max: Fury Road” BTS Book Coming Next Year!

There are few films that could possibly top the amazing and incredible madness that is “Mad Max: Fury Road.” It’s been 6 years since the film from George Miller rode shiny and chrome into theaters. Completely resetting expectations for what a post apocalyptic film could be yet again, the sheer spectacle of the fourth installment in Miller’s franchise was astounding on every possible level. Nabbing 6 Oscars, including Best Film Editing for Margaret Sixel and Best Costume Designs for Jenny Beaven, “Fury Road” isn’t your average science fiction flick.

This is why we are so excited to have something NEW coming next year about “Mad Max: Fury Road,” from New York Times author Kyle Buchanan. “Blood, Sweat & Chrome: The Wild and True Story of Mad Max: Fury Road” doesn’t even have a description from the publisher yet, but we do know it’ll be a hardbound release.

    That’s kinda it so far?

We can hopefully assume this book will have more details chronicled in Buchanan’s amazing NYT oral history of “Fury Road” piece from 2020, along with perhaps never before seen photos? Maybe? Possibly?

You can pre-order the book on Amazon now. “Blood, Sweat & Chrome” is set to release on January 11th, 2022.

Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.
