Madison Square Garden, one of the iconic venues in the United States, is reopening for full capacity shows. This morning, the NYC arena announced who will kick off the reopening- Dave Grohl‘s Foo Fighters! This of course is exciting news, and signals a return to normal after a year of anything but.
That said, if you haven’t been vaccinated against Covid-19 yet, you will not be able to attend the Sunday, June 20th (Father’s Day) show.
James Dolan, Executive Chairman and CEO of MSG Entertainment, said in a statement: “The Garden is ready to rock. We’ve been waiting for this moment for 15 months and are excited to finally welcome a packed house of roaring, fully-vaccinated Foo Fighters fans to Madison Square Garden.”
Grohl added: “We’ve been waiting for this day for over a year. And Madison Square Garden is going to feel that HARD. New York, get ready for a long ass night of screaming our heads off together to 26 years of Foos.”
Foo Fighters are celebrating 26 years of rocking this year, and recently were announced as part of the 2021 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame class.
Tickets for the concert go on sale June 11 at 10:00am (EST).
