We’re still kind of miffed that Warner Bros. Pictures decided to push “Mortal Kombat” back. True, it’s only a week, so that isn’t too bad. But every time we see a new trailer, image, or featurette for the R-rated reboot, we want it NOW.

This newest special behind-the-scenes look at the film introduces us to each of the warriors we’ll meet.

Simon McQuiod directs from a screenplay by Greg Russo and Dave Callaham, based on the videogame created by Ed Boon and John Tobias.

Starring Lewis Tan (“Deadpool 2,” Netflix’s “Wu Assassins”) as Cole Young, Jessica McNamee (“The Meg”) as Sonya Blade, Josh Lawson (“Bombshell”) as Kano, Tadanobu Asano (“Midway”) as Lord Raiden, Mehcad Brooks (TV’s “Supergirl”) as Jackson “Jax” Bridges, Ludi Lin (“Aquaman”) as Liu Kang, with Chin Han (“Skyscraper”) as Shang Tsung, Joe Taslim (“Star Trek Beyond”) as Bi-Han and Sub-Zero, Hiroyuki Sanada (“Skyscraper”) as Hanzo Hasashi and Scorpion, Max Huang as Kung Lao, Sisi Stringer as Mileena, Matilda Kimber as Emily Young, and Laura Brent as Allison.

“Mortal Kombat” is set to release on HBO Max on April 23rd, 2021 and in select theaters the same day.

Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.
