Netflix has announced a live-action project based off the animated series “The Winx Club.” The series will be called “Fate: The Winx Saga,” and focus on Bloom and her friends. The show will be available to watch January 22nd.

Netflix describes their new series as the, “coming-of-age journey of five fairies attending Alfea, a magical boarding school in the Otherworld where they must learn to master their powers while navigating love, rivalries, and the monsters that threaten their very existence” as informed by the makers and also mentioned about Fate filming location. Playing Bloom will be a familiar face if you watched “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” on Netflix. Abigail Cowen who played Dorcas will be tackling the role of “the most powerful fairy”.

Netflix has been getting a bit of backlash over this new trailer with people saying that they have “whitewashed” the characters.

#Winx Honestly they just killed my entire childhood by releasing this. Who the hell was in charge of casting because wow this is all wrong. Where is the Latina Flora, the Asian Musa and why is Tecna missing ? Netflix letting me down already ? pic.twitter.com/OKEQupcx3A

Some however are excited to see this getting a new more adult adaptation. We’ll see come January 22nd 2021 (when “Fate: The Winx Saga” hits Netflix) if the show holds up to what the fans expect, And if they can get over the character casting choices that Netflix decided to make.
