Earlier this year we got somewhat of a reunion special when Will Smith Zoomed with most of the cast of the show. Now HBO Max will be giving us a proper one and it’s set to film September 10th! The show will air around Thanksgiving which gives us just one more thing to look forward to.
According to TVLine the show will be unscripted and have most of the original cast. We can expect to see Will Smith (Will), Tatyana Ali (Ashley), Karyn Parsons (Hilary), Joseph Marcell (Geoffrey), Daphne Maxwell Reid (Aunt Viv No. 2), DJ Jazzy Jeff (Jazz) and Alfonso Ribeiro (Carlton). They also say that a few special guests will be included but as of now we don’t have a guess for whom. No doubt they will be honoring James Avery(Uncle Phil) who passed in 2013.
Marcus Raboyis will be directing the special. Rikki Hughes will act as showrunner alongside Miguel Melendez who is also executive-producing. Other executive producers include Lukas Kaiser, and Brad Haugen for Westbrook Media.
Not long ago it was announced that Will Smith would be rebooting “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”. This one will be a more “dramatic” version and will be based on the 2019 parody trailer made by Morgan Cooper. Cooper is also serving as an executive producer.
