Kevin Fiege Shares Statement on the Passing of “Black Panther” Star Chadwick Boseman

We’re still in a state of disbelief and shock after last night’s heartbreaking news about the passing of “Black Panther” star Chadwick Boseman.

If you didn’t see our coverage about it, you can see that here. We updated it throughout the evening as additional Marvel Studios and notable personalities shared their grief with the fans across the world.

One that we missed last night came from Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige, who had this to say about Boseman:

“Chadwick’s passing is absolutely devastating. He was our T’Challa, our Black Panther, and our dear friend. Each time he stepped on set, he radiated charisma and joy, and each time he appeared on screen, he created something truly indelible. He embodied a lot of amazing people in his work, and nobody was better at bringing great men to life. He was as smart and kind and powerful and strong as any person he portrayed. Now he takes his place alongside them as an icon for the ages. The Marvel Studios family deeply mourns his loss, and we are grieving tonight with his family.”

The one that absolutely broke us last night was Angela Bassett, who played T’Challa’s regal queen mother Ramonda.
