“Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” Cancelled, Ending This Year

Netflix announced today that the “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” would be ending after this year. Previously they had said that the show would go on for four parts but we were all hoping it would lead to more. The final eight episodes will air later this year. No word on why they’ve come to this decision but we are keeping updated as we find more information.

    Netflix

What we thought would be at least a four-season show is coming to an end. What we thought is that each season would be comprised of two parts which is how most other shows done in parts come out. So that would mean we were only at the end of season 2 of the show.

Executive Producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa said in a statement:

“Working on Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has been an incredible honor from Day One. The cast, beginning with Kiernan as everyone’s favorite teen witch, has been an absolute joy. I am beyond thankful to the crew, writers, editors, assistants, and everyone for pouring so much love into this dark dream of a show. I’m also grateful to our partners at Netflix, Warner Bros., Berlanti Television and Archie Comics for letting us tell the story we wanted to tell, the way we wanted to tell it. We can’t wait for everyone to see Part Four.”

Here is a series of images Netflix released for the upcoming part four of the show:

The last time we saw Sabrina…

    SPOILERS

she was taking over her position of Queen of Hell. After searching for relics and winning against Hell’s nominated party she took her place on the throne. That’s where we left her mid season two which was dropping in two parts with the latter part coming later this year. Now without the promise of a season three or four to go beyond that we are hoping they can at least wrap this up nicely.

For many it was a nice break away from the wholesome version of the show that was on in the 90’s. With demons, monsters and plenty of scary scenery it scratched an itch and was really great to watch during the Halloween build up.

My fear for the show is that since they have only these last eight episodes and were originally planning for two more seasons(at least) the end will come across haphazardly. Will this be the ending that fans deserve? Or will it be something slapped together at the last minute. With the synopsis from Comicbook.com it feels like it won’t be a complete ending…

” The Eldritch Terrors will descend upon Greendale. The coven must fight each terrifying threat one-by-one (The Weird, The Returned, The Darkness to name a few), all leading up to…The Void, which is the End of All Things. As the witches wage war, with the help of The Fright Club, Nick begins to slowly earn his way back into Sabrina’s heart, but will it be too late?”

    This Story is Developing.
