Street Cat Leads Woman to Store to Show Her His Favorite Food, She Adopts Him on the Spot

Living on the streets as a cat is rough. You need to find shelter when it rains, scrape together a meal, and fend off other desperate animals who want to steal your food. It’s a life filled with battle scars and hunger. One tailless white cat from Mexico decided to think outside the box when it came time for its next meal though.

33 year old Tania Lizbeth Santos Coy Tova was on her way to the local supermarket in Piedras Negras. It seems like an ordinary trip until she spots the stray cat sitting outside the supermarket. He has no collar and looks hungry and sad. Tania approaches the cat and scratches his head. Immediately, he begins following her into the supermarket. The clever cat then leads Tania to the cat food section and points its paw directly at a bag of food. Naturally, she grabs it for him.

Tania didn’t stop there though. What’s even better than giving this poor cat a bag of food? Well, giving it an entirely new life. Tania adopted the stray and named him Conejo, which means rabbit. She picked the name because he reminded her of a rabbit with his stump of a tail. Now Conejo has food, water, a warm home and medical care. He even has a favorite toy called Rene. For Tania, Conejo “taught us a great lesson that we must show respect, love, and empathy towards other beings.”

Now Conejo is part of the family and loves them as much as they love him. It’s truly the perfect ending for a kitty who had a rough start to life. Here’s wishing Conejo and Tania a very long and happy life together!
