Rosario Dawson Breaks Silence on Ahsoka Tano Casting Rumors

Rosario Dawson has finally addressed the on going rumor that she may play Ahsoka Tano in the Mandalorian season two. And it’s pretty exciting to hear her say the words, “nothing’s been finalized yet”. Because you guessed it, that means she’s been talking with people about it. And that is getting us even more excited for when it comes out.

Currently she is wrapping up her role on the USA series Briarpatch and is ready to move on to new things. Her main two focuses is wanting to play Q on Star Trek, and wanting to play Ahsoka Tano in the Star Wars universe. She’s a nerd after our own hearts as she told Variety, “The two universes, Star Trek and Star Wars,” Dawson says. “I get in those two, I’m telling you, man, that’s it. I will just retire. And then I can just concentrate on going to school and running for office. That would be it.”

“That’s no confirmation yet but when that happens, I will be very happy. I’m very excited for that to be confirmed at some point.” If it does happen, she says it would be “a million and one percent because of the fans.”

Fans have wanted to see a live action Ahsoka since she first debuted in Clone Wars. Hailing from Shili, Ahsoka was found to be force-sensitive and brought to Coruscant by Jedi Master Plo-Koon. Unable to take her own as his apprentice, she was trained by and became the Jedi Padawan to Anakin Skywalker. If they have Vader or Anakin in the Mandalorian that could potentially drag the series out for many seasons. And many seasons where we would be sat on the edge of our seats is a good thing.

The Mandalorian is probably the first real Star Wars production that fans have come together with in a long time. Many have remained divided over the films and there has been a rift within the community. Now with the Mandalorian and the Child we’ve mended bonds that we once thought were irreparable. Now this news is not really a confirmation that she will be playing her, but with the knowledge that it is at least being talked about and discussed, we can all feel a lot more at peace. Because really who better to play Ahsoka than Rosario Dawson?
