Seniors living at a retirement home in Austin, Texas were surprised yesterday with a special celebrity hosted Bingo. The seniors at The Enclave at Round Rock Senior Living were surprised with none other than Matthew McConaughey in their Zoom bingo video chat. Many of the residents were very happy to see a familiar and famous face amid having to practice social distancing.

In the video with the seniors he was pleasant as always. And according to the nursing home they were all very grateful that he took the time to do it.

“Thank you to Matthew, his wife Camila, and his mom Kay for hosting our residents for a few rounds of virtual bingo. Our residents had a great time playing, and they loved talking with Matthew about his family heritage and his favorite drink,” the facility said in its post.

McConaughey had said previously in a statement that he wanted all Texans to stay home.

It’s good that he is using his celebrity status to tell us all that social distancing is a must. During today’s climate it’s important for people we look up to to especially be mindful of the message that they are putting out there. Stay home and Stay safe!
