Jedi Temple Challenge New Gameshow Coming To Disney+

A new game show is coming to Disney+ and it is aiming towards young padawans. Ahmed Best who is known(to Star Wars fans) for playing Jar Jar Binks will be the host as he guides the kids through the challenges. He will have a droid co-host voiced by Mary Holland (Veep, Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre).

According to StarWars.com the new show will “test young contestants’ abilities in the core Jedi principles of strength, knowledge, and bravery as they face thrilling and fun obstacles in an attempt to achieve the rank of Jedi Knight! From lightsabers to hyperspace, the Force, and the dark side, Jedi Temple Challenge transports viewers and contestants into the Star Wars galaxy like never before.”

“This is definitely a kids game show like no other. The various challenges will test a Padawan’s connection to the Force in three locations — a forest planet, on board a Jedi star cruiser, and inside a Jedi temple — immersing them and the audience in a fun, humorous, and exciting competition.”

Mickey Capoferri – Lucasfilm’s senior director of Online Content & Programming

“Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge brings together the best of Star Wars — competitive spirit, harrowing obstacles and a hero’s triumph over challenges — in a totally new format for the franchise. A game show set in the Star Wars galaxy is a perfect fit for Disney+.”

Dan Silver, vice president, Originals — Unscripted Content, Disney+.

If this game show is anything like Nickelodeon’s “Legends of the Hidden Temple” then we are in for a treat. If they can combine a Question and Answer round based on Star Wars trivia as well as physical challenges using lightsabers, then this will be an exciting show to tune into and view with your kids.

This is a welcome show especially since they got rid of the Jedi training in Tomorrow Land at Disneyland. Now we can watch the young Padawans trian to become a master on tv.

Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge will stream exclusively on Disney+ in 2020.
