Loki Disney+ Series Ties Into ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’

As a Loki fan, I was already looking forward to his upcoming mini-series on Disney Plus. But now there is even more reason to anticipate the series – apparently, it will also tie in somehow with the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness movie.

This information comes courtesy of Kevin Feige as quoted in an article in Bloomberg. Sadly, other than the fact that a tie in exists, no other facts are offered up. Not even if we can expect to see our favorite God of Mischief appearing in the film, or if it is only events from the series that will somehow relate to the movie.

Not much is known about the Loki series, other than it will involve the character time traveling and appearing at key events in history. Trying to change things? And if so, for good or ill? No clue. Or how he is time traveling (the tesseract should allow travel through space but not time). But then, Loki is actually quite old so perhaps the brief glimpses we have had of Loki at past times are actually moments from his own history with no time travel necessary. All that actor Tom Hiddleston has said about the series is that Loki will face more formidable opponents than he has faced before. We will have to wait until the Spring of 2021 to see.

Although we don’t know if Loki will appear in the movie, we do know that Scarlet Witch will play a role. And the WandaVision miniseries (which supposedly has a sort of sit-com vibe) will act as a prequel to the Doctor Strange movie (touted as the MCU’s first horror movie). That seems a bit of a strange mix, but we will have to see. The WandaVision series will also premiere in Spring 2021, with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness set to come out shortly after on May 7, 2021.

I am still waiting for that blue police box to take me on a star trek to a galaxy far, far away. Until then I will have to content myself with fantasy and sci-fi adventures from books, movies, and TV shows.
