We’re just barely 90 days into the new year and already there’s an epic film that you may (or may not) have heard of.
Considering that 2019 is gonna be one helluva year for films, this one really starts the year off with a… bang.

Screw Avengers: Endgame, to hell with Star Wars: Episode IX, the film I’m about to tell you will literally cross the $1 billion domestic box office mark in about a week or so. It took Avengers: Infinity War 11 days, setting the world record. The following film will take a dump on that record.

    so edgy.

No, it’s not Glass or Alita: Battle Angel. In fact, it’s not even released in the United States till some time later.

It’s the Chinese film, The Wandering Earth.

This MF-ing movie made $700 MILLION IN JUST 3 DAYS. It’s also the biggest opening film in China history, defeating Avengers: Infinity War.

If you didn’t catch the trailer above, because you like reading over visual artforms for whatever reason, the plot is that Earth is about to collide into Jupiter. That’s all you need to know.

EARTH. IS ABOUT TO. COLLIDE. INTO. JUPITER.

So you’re probably ‘wandering’ (gag) how you’re gonna see this film? Well GOOD NEWS, EVERYONE! Netflix just bought the international distributing rights to this sucker and while there is no release date, Netflix will remind you when they SPAM THE S*** OUT OF YOUR MAIN PAGE.

me trying to figure wtf to stream

That’s not to say you can’t catch this film in theaters, it’s actually playing at your local MOVING PICTURES AUDITORIUM! So check Fandango or whatever it is you do to get tickets, The Wandering Earth is in select theaters now, Netflix…uhhh before Stranger Things 3 drops????

This post was not sponsored by Netflix or Fandango but would like to be.
