Earlier today it was confirmed that the final season of Game of Thrones will air sometime next April. This comes as welcome news to all the fans who have so patiently been waiting.

The trailer shows that all that has happened in previous seasons has all been leading up to this. We can expect a season of action and suspense and finally get to see who gets to sit upon the throne.
This will not be the end of the Game of Throne series as HBO has already signed Jane Goldman to write a pilot for a prequel series. The show is set to take place thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones takes place.
