    Pacific Rim 2: Uprising Trailer

    The Kaijus are back!!

Whether or not you believed Guillermo del Toro’s 2013 “giant robots battling giant monsters” film Pacific Rim deserved another chapter, it’s happening.  On October 6th, comingsoon.net reported that the first trailer for Pacific Rim 2: Uprising has been released.

From the looks of it, we have everything you could want in a sequel.  The stakes are higher, the Jaegers are more advanced, and the Kaijus are more ferocious.

Though del Toro will not be in the director’s chair this time around, the studio has put Steven S. DeKinght in charge of the second installment.  DeKinght, who comes from mostly a producing/writing background has gained some notoriety as a director recently with his work on Netflix’s Daredevil.  Some casting changes have also been made, star Charlie Hunnam will sit this one out and John Boyega is the one that’s going to lead the group of Jaegers in the fight to save humanity.  Charlie Day, Rinko Kikuchi, and Burn Gorman are a couple of familiar faces set to return.

Make no mistake about it… buildings will be destroyed.

Pacific Rim 2: Uprising will arrive in theaters on March 23rd 2018.
