Performer Lizzo is facing another lawsuit for “overseeing a hostile work environment.” The plaintiff is a stylist who claims she was subjected to a “culture of racism and bullying” while on tour with the artist. The lawsuit was filed on September 21st, 2023 with the Los Angeles Superior Court. This new lawsuit alleges Lizzo, real name Melissa Jefferson, and supervisors of Big Grrrl Big Touring Inc. Filmmaker Seth MacFarlane is once again donating to the Entertainment Community Fund (ECF), this time to the tune of $5 million. MacFarlane previously donated $1 million in July of this year, for the fund’s efforts of supporting industry professionals amid the Hollywood strikes. MacFarlane is partnering with the ECF to launch a $10 million initiative in hopes of attracting more donors. He has committed $5 million to this project. To help crack down on Halloween pranks, the city of Beverly Hills banned the personal possession of some traditional “trick” tools. During a meeting on September 19th, the Beverly Hills City Council voted unanimously to adopt a new ordinance. The ordinance prohibits the possession of Silly String, “hair removal products” and shaving cream on Halloween. City officials passed the ordinance to create a “safe family friendly environment.” According to a news release issued Wednesday, September 20th, city officials claim the Beverly Hills Police Department (BHPD) has been asking for this. The London stage play based on “Stranger Things” has announced its cast, set dates for previews, and has a formal opening date. “Stranger Things: The First Shadow” is a prequel to the Netflix hit series set in 1959. Previews for the show will begin on November 17th, 2023 at the Phoenix Theater in London’s West End. Oscar winner Jordan Peele is going to be sharing a new anthology celebrating Black horror entitled, “Out There Screaming: An Anthology of New Black Horror.” Peele, acclaimed creator of psychological films like “Us,” “Get Out,” and “Nope,” has curated this new anthology. He says his narration for the British “Harry Potter” audiobooks was used to train an AI, which then used the data to create the narration for a documentary in Fry’s voice.
