Yesterday, the big question about whether or not a new season of “The Mandalorian” was officially answered. While no, we AREN’T getting another season, we ARE getting a feature film, “The Mandalorian & Grogu!” Jon Favreau is directing. But buried in THAT news was a mention of another series we’ve been anxiously awaiting news of. A second season of “Ahsoka” is currently in development!!! (If you scroll down to the very bottom of yesterday’s press release on the Star Wars website, you’ll see the news!) While…that’s kind of it as far as news go, we do now have a new…

We are VERY interested in the newest tease from A24. It’s not their next big movie, but its for something near and dear to our hearts. Last year, the studio did a theatrical re-release of Talking Head’s iconic concert film directed by the late Jonathan Demme, “Stop Making Sense.” It was a 4K remaster, it was in IMAX, and it was amazing. To sort of coincide (albeit months later), we’re also getting A TRIBUTE ALBUM! A24 shared a tease of the first track from the album, from a little band called Paramore. The VERY short tease shows frontwoman Hayley Williams…
Welcome to 2024, where awards season is well and truly upon us. Already this week, we’ve had two nights of the Hollywood Creative Alliance awards, the Creative Arts Emmys, and the Golden Globes. This coming weekend, we’ll have the Critics Choice Awards on Sunday, and the full Emmys ceremony on the 15th. But what we want to tell you about is the 30th annual SAG Awards, which JUST named their crop of nominees this morning. It’s….yes, mostly a repeat of the Globes in the major categories, but we always love seeing the ensembles and stunt accolades. The 30th annual SAG…
We’re very sorry to report MAX will not be renewing “Our Flag Means Death” for a third season. Not that it really NEEDED it, but, we were hopeful. The piratical comedy was also a heartfelt love story of contentious captains and crews who all found a family. Starring Rhys Darby as Stede Bonnet and Taika Waititi as Edward “Blackbeard” Teach, these weren’t your average sea-faring rapscallions. “While Max will not be moving forward with a third season of Our Flag Means Death, we are so proud of the joyous, hilarious, and heartfelt stories that creator David Jenkins, Taika Waititi, Rhys Darby, Garrett Basch, Dan Halsted,…
THIS JUST IN-we finally have an answer to why we haven’t heard about another season of “The Mandalorian.” Turns out, Jon Favreau will direct a feature film all about Din Djarin and Grogu, which will be the next “Star Wars” live action film to release. No, this doesn’t mean the Rey Skywalker Jedi Master film is shelved or not happening. It just means Mando gets his first. “I have loved telling stories set in the rich world that George Lucas created,” Favreau said. “The prospect of bringing the Mandalorian and his apprentice Grogu to the big screen is extremely exciting.”“Jon…
This just in-actress Kaitlyn Dever will indeed be playing the character of Abby in season 2 of HBO’s “The Last of Us.”This story is developing…
It’s both a sad and exciting day for fans of the Duffer Brothers’ hit series, “Stranger Things.” The Netflix phenomena which helped launch the acting careers of several youngsters (and brought back some favorites) has officially started production on season 5, which will be the last for “Stranger Things.” With a CODE RED, the official social media accounts for the show posted a photo, showing the main cast all gathered together. A read through? Rehearsal? Simple photo call? We dunno, but the end is beginning. You can catch seasons 1-4 of “Stranger Things” on Netflix now. We’ll do our best…
This just in- that live-action “How to Train Your Dragon” project just announced some pretty big casting news. Gerard Butler, who voiced Stoick the Vast across the films, will reprise the character for the film!! He’ll join Mason Thames (“The Black Phone“) who is playing Hiccup, and Nico Parker (“The Last of Us“) who is playing Astrid. Dean DeBlois will direct.Last we heard, the film had been delayed from it’s original March 14th, 2025 release to June 13th, 2025.
I’m upset. I’m really, really pissed off. “Minx,” one of the best completely out of left-field series in the last several years, has again been cancelled. Maybe you’ll recall, but the well received and reviewed series- created and written by Ellen Rapoport – had originally been developed and released by HBO. It premiered on MAX, and had been greenlit for a second season. Halfway through production on season 2, the series was cancelled, only to be picked up/saved by STARZ. Season 2 released in July of 2023, and once again received strong critical reception, garnering a season 3 order. But as…
This just in-CBS has given a straight-to-series order for a prequel to long-running (oh so long) series “NCIS.” The prequel will follow character Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) as a freshly minted agent in 1991. Harmon co-developed the series with his son Sean Harmon, veteran “NCIS” writers-producers Gina Lucita Monreal and David J. North. We’ll see Gibbs starting his career at Camp Pendleton, where he’ll forge his place on a gritty, ragtag team led by NCIS legend Mike Franks (Muse Watson).Mark Harmon will narrate the series, which is expected to air sometime in the 2024-2025 broadcast season on CBS. We’ll let you…
