Author: Mary Anne Butler

Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.

Disney+ has released the official trailer for season 2 of “Loki.” We were all pretty surprised when the second season was announced, as all early reports indicated it was going to be a limited one-of. We’re not complaining or anything! Marvel Studios‘ “Loki” will pick up in the aftermath of season 1. Loki Prime (Tom Hiddleston) continues his battle for the soul of the Time Variance Authority. He must team up with Mobius (Owen Wilson), Hunter B-15 (Wunmi Mosaku), as well as new and returning characters to navigate the ever-expanding and increasingly dangerous Multiverse. Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino), Judge Renslayer…

As you are probably aware, there is only one location within Disneyland proper to get any kind of adult beverages. This was by design- a longstanding belief from the days of Walt Disney himself that there should not be liquor or alcohol within the family centric park. When Star Wars themed Galaxy’s Edge was announced- and Oga’s Cantina where 21+ drinks are severed with it- there was backlash. Why such a departure from one of the core tenants of the park? Well, the California Adventure side of the Anaheim theme park had been offering such things since their relaunch and…

Paramount+’s various “Star Trek” shows continue to boldly go where no show in the franchise has gone before. Perhaps none so much as “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” season 2. Starring Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike, the sophomore season will feature two big Federation firsts. Episode 9 of season 2 is titled “Subspace Rhapsody,” and it’s gonna be a MUSICAL! (Although we will argue a few “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine” episodes *could* count. Does the name Vic Fontaine mean nothing to you?!) “Subspace Rhapsody” will feature 10 original songs, plus a “Subspace Rhapsody” version of the series’ main title,…

Okay, look- we know what you’re thinking. A “Dune” coloring book? How many variations of brown and sand can there possibly be to make this worth while? A new officially licensed coloring book based on Frank Herbert’s seminal work of science fiction, “Dune,” is available now. Well….for pre order. We can’t really comment on different it is from the 1984 coloring and activity books (which are the best!), but we’re excited. The product description from publisher Penguin Random House:…
