Happy Halloween! Nothing says the horror holiday quite like some good ol Bryan Fuller news. Fuller is currently developing a “Friday the 13th” prequel series titled “Crystal Lake” for A24 and Peacock! Note- a SERIES, not a film. As we know, Elon Musk has completed his purchase of social media platform, Twitter. One of the biggest proposed changes the new CEO is toying with is a monthly subscription for those with verified checkmarks. Several celebrities- you know, the main users of the checkmarks- have already been considering leaving the site. Especially after the use of racial slurs rose over 500% mere hours after Musk took over. Recording artist and actress Janelle Monáe may have won Halloween. Not only did she have an absolutely stellar costume, but she also was able to bring an extra element. A “Fifth Element,” if you will. In Luc Besson’s 1997 science fiction film, Maïwenn Le Besco (body) and Inva Mula (voice) give life to a very important character, Diva Plavalaguna. The blue-hued opera singer puts on a concert, but also literally conceals a key plot point- the Mondoshawan elemental stones. Monáe understood the assignment, and even sang! Knowing it takes a village, Monáe also thanked the team behind her incredible look.

The release of Dr. George Miller’s next “Mad Max” film can’t come soon enough. I mean we’ll always wait for another chapter from the Wasteland, but, we’re just really excited for this one. Titled “Furiosa,” it is a prequel of 2015’s absolutely incredible “Mad Max: Fury Road.” Telling the story of Imperator Furiosa (an Oscar worthy role originated by Charlize Theron), expect to see new locations and characters, but perhaps some familiar ones too. This just in-After months- nay YEARS- of less than optimal outings, Warner Bros. Pictures has brokered a new deal for their DC Comics-based arm. Previously called DC Films, the branch will now be called DC Studios, and will be run by James Gunn and Peter Safran. Gunn and Safran will share the titles of co-chairs and co-CEOs of DC Studios. Both had been spotted recently on the WB lot, presumedly meeting for this. Earlier today, we were treated to a surprise trailer drop from Marvel Studios, for a new project destined to be an instant holiday classic. The “Guardians of the Galaxy” are getting their own special presentation Christmas thing, exclusively for Disney+. As the first look reveals, members of the Guardians go on a mission to retrieve the ultimate Christmas present for Peter Quill aka Star Lord (Chris Pratt), who’s been pretty down since the death of his girlfriend, Gamora (Zoe Saldana). The first trailer for “Guardians of the Galaxy” upcoming holiday special is here, and features a pretty epic cameo. It sure looks like members of the Guardians are searching for the ultimate Christmas gift for Star Lord (Chris Pratt), which brings them to present-day Hollywood, and the door of Kevin Bacon.
