Author: Mary Anne Butler

Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.

The Vulcans, ever curious, descend to Earth and make first contact with a now warp-capable society. (The story is shown in detail in “Star Trek: First Contact.”)But today, a mere 51 years from when First Contact is said to happen, Paramount+ gifted Trek fans with something special. Many…

Even if you don’t recognize Jordan’s name, you’ve seen her face. We are very sorry to share the news that legendary punk rock icon Jordan has passed away. Jordan, who’s legal name was Pamela Rooke, was the literal poster girl for much of the UK movement during the early days of the Sex Pistols. She worked closely with Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren, and was never far from where the action was. Rooke’s family confirmed her passing, after a battle with cancer. She was 66.Just this morning, the first trailer (teaser, really at only 30 seconds) for Danny Boyle’s upcoming…

This is REALLY good news for those of us anxiously awaiting “Thor: Love and Thunder.” Seriously, the film was supposed to release on February 18th (and later February 11th) 2022. Obviously, that didn’t happen. The pandemic continually pushed things downrange, but dates seem to be holding. Thor himself Chris Hemsworth posted on Instagram this morning that he, co-star Tessa Thompson, and writer/director/Korg Taika Waititi were doing press for the film! We’re hopeful this means a trailer isn’t too far away. Possibly sometime around the release of “Kenobi?” “Thor: Love and Thunder” currently has a release date of July 8th, 2022.

Disney+ is taking a step in a different direction. “The Quest,” a new competition series, will straddle the lines of reality and fantasy. Contestants are pretty much LARPing, with actors and incredible locations as a background for a special experience. 8 teens find themselves in a fully-immersive world, with fantastic creatures and situations unfolding. It’s like if the local ren faire, on their fantasy weekend, went all “10th Kingdom” and became a portal to another realm where everything was real, rather than make believe. We’re certainly curious, and will give the series a chance. Disney+ describes “The Quest”: Filmed at…
