“Kids in the Hall: Comedy Punks” is enough to make anyone a fan of the men who created a cultural comedic phenomenon.

“Good Luck to You, Leo Grande” is a small, introspective, and often times very funny look at sex without being sexually exploitative.
I’m not sure anyone can really identify what magic the Crawleys have used to make them so mesmerizing and enthralling. By all accounts, nothing about “Downton Abbey: A New Era” should work. As much as fans of the series have clamored for more rich British people behaving badly in the most civil, British way possible, history has taught us that crossover between mediums seldom works out. Often times these attempts are fueled by two things: relevance and money. Neither are necessarily bad things; but they often taint which ever iteration comes second. Luckily for fans, “Downton Abbey: A New Era”…
You read that right- the 10th Doctor (my girlfriend’s personal favorite) and fan favorite companion Donna Noble are set to return to “Doctor Who!” The announcement of “Sex Education” star Ncuti Gatwa as the first African American Doctor paired with the long awaited return of Russell T. Davies as showrunner after 12 years away signals big changes coming. There’s currently no details about what capacity the two series favorites will be returning to. When we last left Donna, The Doctor had to wipe her memory to save her life. “It looks impossible – first, we announce a new Doctor, and…
It’s hard to believe, but we’ve already had 5 films and 5 television series released under Marvel Studios’ designated umbrella of Phase 4. These films have been such a staple of the culture zeitgeist for so long, it’s hard for any of us to imagine a cinematic world without it. We simply cannot fathom a time when the telegraphed plan wasn’t so easy to uncover, and the puzzle put together relatively easily if you were paying attention. Phase 4 has decidedly latched on to uncertainty and contained one-of stories that may or may not connect to a larger story. Anyone…
The famed Moulin Rouge Cabaret in Paris is ready to offer a once in a lifetime stay in a secret room inside the iconic windmill. That’s right- you can spend the night reading poetry like Satin and Christian in a special room decked out with 19th century French decor. Though the theater and show itself still runs to this day, the actual windmill and aforementioned room were not open to the public until now. The windmill and cabaret club have been a staple of Paris nightlife for centuries. According the official Moulin Rouge website, co-founders Joseph Oller and Charles Zidler…
It is with a heavy heart that we had to write about the passing of Fred Ward. One of the most prolific actors working in Hollywood with a career spanning over 40 years and over 80 appearances onscreen. Ward may not have been a leading man in many of his films, but regardless of whether or not you recognize the name, you absolutely recognize the face and presence. Ward had a knack bringing a gravitas and seriousness to just about every role, but was always able to somehow translate that into expert comedic timing. His filmography is as varied as…
“Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” is a Sam Raimi horror film first, an MCU entry second, and that’s ok.
“Moon Knight” starts strong, is packed with strong performances, but lacks necessary execution to be a worthy inclusion into the MCU.
The further into the Marvel Cinematic Universe we go, the more connected everything gets. After 28 films and even more deeply connected television series serving as gap fillers, we can no longer waltz into a new Marvel Studios film without a vast knowledge of what came before it. Gone are the days of solo, stand-alone origin stories or sequels with limited and/or contained stakes. The gift and curse of something like “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” is that on the one hand, it doesn’t have to waste time reintroducing characters, or a where are they now montage of…
