Before every brand was trying to manufacture authenticity and before social media turned personal style into content, there was Emily the Strange. Rob Reger’s Emily the Strange has been a cultural icon for decades, starting as a design for a skateboard company in Santa Cruz, CA, and now with a bestselling book series, fashion line, punk rock music, and soon to be animated film, currently in development by Warner Bros. Pictures Animation and Bad Robot, empowering generations as the fiery, rebellious young girl who refuses to conform. If you came of age in the late ’90s or early 2000s, you probably remember…

Most bongs are designed to be functional, but the HEMPER Jeweled Egg Bong is something else entirely. Inspired by ornate Fabergé jeweled eggs, it looks more like a collectible you’d find in an antique shop than a smoking piece. It’s one that you can hide in plain sight and display among your other treasures. That’s what I love most about it. Instead of hiding it away, I can display it alongside my vintage books, brass décor, and other antique pieces. It fits right in and always gets people asking questions. It’s nice because those who notice are smokers too, so…
For years, the story of music formats seemed pretty straightforward. CDs replaced cassettes, streaming replaced CDs, and convenience won over actually owning something. Recently though, the cassette tape industry has made a big comeback. Artists like Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish and more are putting out albums on tape. I only realized how big this impact was when I went to a Kittie concert. Like most merch tables, there were T-shirts, knick-knacks, and vinyl records available. Vinyl’s resurgence is well documented at this point, so seeing stacks of LPs wasn’t surprising. What caught my attention, however, was the cassette tape sitting…
Delivery drivers play a vital role in keeping communities moving, especially during major shopping events like Prime Day. Inspired by the growing trend of consumers leaving snacks, drinks, and thank-you notes for delivery drivers, ZOA Energy is launching a new initiative to recognize their hard work. Ahead of this year’s Prime Day deals (June 23–26), ZOA Energy, the energy drink co-founded by actor Dwayne Johnson, is introducing “Real Energy, Recognized.” The campaign celebrates the people working behind the scenes to deliver millions of packages across the country. Besides Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Prime days are one of the busiest…
Netflix has chosen their Dr. Tann and found him in actor Jocko Sims. One of the most forgotten but important figures in Laura Ingalls Wilder’s Little House on the Prairie appears in just a single chapter. Netflix’s upcoming adaptation is set to turn that brief mention of the doctor into something more. Dr. George Tann, the physician who treated the Ingalls family during a life-threatening bout of malaria in Kansas, is remembered in Wilder’s book through the eyes of a young Laura. He also was Black, which was at the time still a very taboo thing. Laura recalls that as…
Ready for some big news!? Warrior Cats has been picked up by Disney+ and the Disney Channel! This is HUGE for fans of the book. And from what I can tell, it means that they’re going to have Disney money to play with. Or at least the backing for more merch etc in the future. All I know is that in my house, the kids are VERY excited. We knew that Warrior Cats was being adapted as a show, we just didn’t know that Disney would be involved. Warrior Cats is being adapted into an animated TV series for Disney+…
If you grew up in the 90’s you’ll likely remember Pizza Hut’s BOOK IT! Program. You had to fill out a piece of paper and take it into your local Pizza Hut and they’d reward you with a personal pan pizza. It was one of the most epic summer experiences and we’re here to tell you, you can relive your childhood – through your kids – still today! BOOK IT! is still around. And we’ve got wind of quite a few other summer reading programs for kids too. Check out these programs in the list below! The BOOK IT! Program…
The finale of Widow’s Bay is coming fast. AppleTV has sent us some first look images of what we can expect to see in the finale. I won’t spoil anything for you if you’re not caught up, but this episode is bound to be a doozy. For those of you just tuning in, Widow’s Bay is a new genre-bending series led by Emmy Award winner Matthew Rhys, who also serves as executive producer, and hailing from creator Katie Dippold and Emmy Award-winning director and executive producer Hiro Murai. The 10-episode series made its global debut on Wednesday, April 29, 2026…
The UK is preparing to introduce one of the world’s toughest social media ban targeting children under 16. This would keep them from accessing most major social media platforms. These platforms include TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, X, YouTube, and Reddit. The proposal, announced by Prime Minister Keir Starmer, is part of a larger effort to address concerns about online safety. This also considers children’s mental health, cyberbullying, and excessive screen time which are all problems today. Enforcement would focus on the technology companies rather than children themselves. Platforms would be required to implement stronger age-verification systems to prevent underage users…
One thing I love doing with my husband is watching Survivor. Jeff Probst has a special place in this house. It started when we first got married and we’ve since collected a handful of other Survivor fans to play a game filled with points, picks and winners/losers. Think of it like a fantasy football league for Survivor. It’s always fun to watch to the end and see who wins. I’m pretty terrible at it but sometimes my pick does make it to at least the final 3. But that always gets me wondering, how do these Survivor Winners spend their…
