Production is officially a-go in the UK on the “Peaky Blinders” movie, based on the popular BBC drama series. The studio has just released first-look photos of Oscar-winner Cillian Murphy reprising his role as Tommy Shelby. The film is written by series creator Steven Knight, and directed by franchise director Tom Harper. The upcoming film will also star Rebecca Ferguson (“Dune”), Barry Keoghan (“Saltburn”), and Tim Roth (“Pulp Fiction”). All good things must end, even when it comes to dolls on a killing spree. Syfy and USA Network have officially canceled the “Chucky” series based on the “Child’s Play” horror franchise. DC Studios and HBO’s “Lanterns” series is wrapping up the casting stages of production. And you know what that means, fantasy casting galore! Current reports indicate Aaron Pierre (“Rebel Ridge”) and Stephan James (“The Piano Lesson”) are in the mix to possibly play the character John Stewart. Damson Idris (“Snowfall”) was also allegedly in talks to star in the upcoming show, but it seems he is no longer in the running.  It is unknown if Pierre and James are testing or reading for the role. Nowadays it’s almost impossible to get by without some kind of social media presence. DC Comics tentpole hero Batman was honored today with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Which, oddly enough, also earned the Caped Crusader a Guinness World Record title for being the first superhero to be granted a star by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. The rumor mill is working overtime about HBO’s upcoming “Harry Potter” reboot series. One thing we can confirm is Jared Harris (“Mad Men”), son of late actor Richard Harris, will NOT  be taking on the role of Dumbledore.  In a recent interview with The Independent, Jared revealed that he had been approached for the role.
