Once again, Dame Helen Mirren is using late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain to comment on how weird aging is. Director/producer Tom Donahue and producer Ilan Arboleda, the duo behind “This Changes Everything,” are setting their sights on the Screen Actors Guild and American Federation of Radio and Television Artists (SAG-AFTRA). Their new currently untitled documentary will look at the transformation of the performers’ union between 2008 and 2024.  In 2008, the Writers Guild of America (WGA) for film and television studios went on strike. SAG considered doing so but ultimately decided against it. Sony has officially put a new, currently untitled, “Spider-Man” movie on its summer 2026 release calendar. Tom Holland WILL be returning as everyone’s favorite web-slinger. Destin Daniel Cretton (“Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”) is already attached to direct.  Holland has previously starred in the Jon Watts-directed “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” “Spider-Man: Far From Home,” and “Spider-Man: No Way Home.” Along with appearances as the character in Disney/Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War,” “Avengers: Infinity War,” and “Avengers: Endgame.” The star’s return for a fourth film was first hinted at back in September. There has been yet another disturbance in the force. Screenwriter Steven Knight (“Peaky Blinders”) has exited the upcoming “Star Wars” movie starring Daisy Ridley. The new film is expected to follow Rey (Ridley) after the events shown in 2019’s “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.” Knight signed on to the project in March 2023, replacing the original screenwriters Damon Lindelof (“The Hunt”) and Justin Britt-Gibson (“The Strain”). We have another casting update about Oscar-winner Christopher Nolan’s (“Oppenheimer”) upcoming untitled film. Tom Holland (“Spider-Man”) will be starring alongside the previously announced Matt Damon (“Drive-Away Dolls”). At this time very little is known about the film.
