The Mattel Company is bringing back everyone’s favorite [or most hated] purple dinosaur, Barney. The company will be relaunching the children’s franchise through a new television show aimed at the preschoolers. This time, the positivity-spreading dinosaur will be animated instead of someone in a costume. The relaunch may also include films and YouTube content, which may be more accessible to the younger set now. Earlier this year, Ben Affleck and his wife, singer/actress Jennifer Lopez, were spotted at a Dunkin’ Donuts in Medford, Massachusetts. This didn’t seem odd really. IFC just dropped a teaser trailer for the new film “Paint,” directed by Brit McAdams (“Tosh.0”). Star Owen Wilson sports a big perm and button-down shirt while painting peaceful landscapes. New Zealand police announced more than 3.5 tons of cocaine was found floating in a remote part of the Pacific Ocean. The devil’s dandruff was apparently dropped there by an international drug-smuggling syndicate. Police Commissioner Andrew Coster says the find was dropped in 81 bales at a floating transit point. The island of misfit coke was intercepted by a navy ship had been deployed to the area last week.  The wholesale value of the 3.5 tons of cocaine is about $500 million (NZD), or $316 million in the US.  Making this the nation’s largest-ever drug seizure. Video game developers Velan Studios have teamed up with toymaker Mattel on the new mixed reality game, “Hot Wheels: Rift Rally.” It will combine the thrill of a AAA racing game with the fast-paced reality of RC racing. “Hot Wheels: Rift Rally” will include the Chameleon RC car, four Rift Gates for track building, and a charging cable. The game itself offers two different ways to play, in Campaign mode where players set up the Rift Gates to create a mixed-reality race track. Creators of popular children’s series “PAW Patrol” recently celebrated the show’s 10th anniversary. They also recently launched their first spin-off series, “Rubble & Crew,” and opened up about the development process. “PAW Patrol” debuted in 2013 as both a toy line and tv series aimed at preschoolers. Both were created by Canadian company Spin Master, who distributed the series in the US through Nickelodeon. It centers around a group of six puppies who go on high-stakes rescue missions.
