Filmmaker Jordan Peele’s fourth movie is still in the works, and has been confirmed for a Christmas 2024 release. It will be yet another Universal Pictures film; the studio previously released Peele’s acclaimed titles “Get Out,” “Us,” and “Nope.”
As is his custom, Peele has given up zero information about the new project. We have no idea about the cast, plot, or even what genre it will be in. Which is exactly what happened with his previous films, so why mess with success?
All we know for sure is Universal Pictures added “Untitled Fourth Film Directed by Jordan Peele” to its release calendar for Wednesday, December 25th, 2024. If it were to release at that time it would be premiering one week after James Cameron’s “Avatar 3” and Jeff Fowler’s “Sonic the Hedgehog 3.” Both of these films are slated to be released on December 20th, 2024. This puts Peele’s project up against some stiff competition, but that isn’t anything new for his work.
His debut feature, 2017’s psychological horror film “Get Out,” was plagued by doubt given Peel’s comedic background. But it ended up being a commercial and critical hit, grossing $255 million and earning four Oscar nominations. 2019’s thriller “Us,” had many thinking lightning couldn’t strike twice. But, of course, it did, also bringing in $255 million worldwide. 2022’s “Nope,” hit theaters last summer and collected more than $170 million globally. Which isn’t bad considering the pandemic seriously affected people’s desire to go to the theater.
We’ll keep you posted on news about Peele’s latest project as it becomes available.
