Cinderella will be joining The Grinch, Winnie The Pooh, Peter Pan, and Bambi in the current trend of remaking public-domain children’s stories into horror movies. This movement is mostly being helmed by Rhys Frake-Waterfield, director of “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey,” its upcoming sequel, “Peter Pan: Neverland Nightmare,” and the producer of “Bambi: The Reckoning.”  The upcoming “Cinderella’s Curse” is a combo breaker that will be directed and produced by Louisa Warren for ChampDog Films. With the wild success of 2021’s “Ghostbusters: Afterlife,” it’s no surprise Sony Pictures is game to make a sequel. While some familiar faces will be returning for “Ghostbusters: Firehouse” (working title), it seems Sigourney Weaver will not be one of them.  “Afterlife” is set three decades after 1989’s “Ghostbusters II,” and revolves around Egon Spengler (Harold Ramis)’s estranged family inheriting a farm he left them in Oklahoma. Actor Benedict Cumberbatch (“Doctor Who”) will play iconic folk musician Pete Seeger in an upcoming biopic about Bob Dylan. Titled “Complete Unknown,” the film comes from Searchlight Pictures. Cumberbatch will be joining the already announced cast of Timothée Chalamet (“Dune”) as Dylan, Elle Fanning (“The Great”) as Sylvie Russo, and Monica Barbaro (“Top Gun: Maverick”) as Joan Baez. “Complete Unknown” is set to chronicle Dylan’s early career once he arrived in New York City. The Etheria Film Festival has just released the lineup and dates for its 10th anniversary event. Part of the news is that actress/director Brinke Stevens (“The Slumber Party Massacre”) will be receiving the 2023 Etheria Inspiration Award. Etheria is one of the most respected showcase of new horror, comedy, science fiction, fantasy, action, and thriller films made by emerging women directors. The Supreme Court has ruled artist Andy Warhol violated copyright law with images of the late singer Prince. The dispute involves images created as a commission for Vanity Fair by Warhol in 1984. The artist used photographs of Prince taken by Lynn Goldsmith as a reference point. Vanity Fair paid Goldsmith to license the photo, but when Warhol created his pieces, he did not pay for or acquire any rights to the photos. TBS Network will be rebooting two of its signature shows, “The Joe Schmo Show” and “Dinner and a Movie.” Both of these relaunches were announced by Kathleen Finch, Chairman and Chief Content Officer of Warner Bros. Between the upcoming films “Fast X” and “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,” actor Jason Momoa’s career is going swimmingly. The star has signed on for possibly his most important role yet, Master of Ceremonies of Discovery Channel’s 35th annual Shark Week. Warner Bros. Kelsey Asbille (“Yellowstone”) and Finn Wittrock (“American Horror Story”) will star in the upcoming horror movie “Don’t Move.” Which will be produced by Sam Raimi’s Raimi Productions, Christian Mercuri’s Capstone Studios, and Alex Lebovici’s Hammerstone Studios.  “Don’t Move” will follow a well-seasoned killer who injects a grieving woman with a paralytic agent.
