Round Hot Dog Burgers Exist, and They Look Delicious

Today I learned that there’s a thing called hot dog burgers. To be honest I’m a little upset I haven’t had the pleasure of trying them before. It came up on Twitter after Maria Yagoda said that she learned they were a thing. After doing a deep dive into the internet, I know that they’re sold exclusively by a company called Rastelli’s.

I also found that you can get these on auto-delivery from QVC. But the price is a bit high at $76 for (24) 3 oz. Round Dog Hot Dogs. For that price I’ll just continue to cut my Hebrew National hot dogs down the center and place 3 on some toasted bread for hot dog sandwiches.

    What’s inside?

From user comments and reviews I found that it’s basically just a regular hot dog. You get a mixture of Pork, Water, Beef, Salt, Sodium Phosphate, Dextrose, Spices, Onion, Sugar, Garlic, Sodium Erythorbate, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Sodium Nitrite and Flavoring. There’s a disclaimer that it contains Soy put out by Rastelli’s who answered the user question about what’s in them.

As far as taste I’ll have to leave that up to the reviewers. They got an overall 3.6 stars but I’m not quite sure what people were expecting. One user said they cooked it for 12 minutes in the air fryer and it came out fine. Another said that they were very disappointed in the taste but they weren’t sure if it was a “psychological” thing because it didn’t’ look like a regular hot dog.

So if you try these, please let us know how they are! Otherwise, I’m just here to tell you they exist.
