Friday was indeed a major day for the BTS army as the South Korean boy band debuted their first song sung entirely in English.  The song is called “Dynamite” and it for sure blew the world away.

In less than 8 hours, the music video racked up 45 million views on YouTube.  It later gained about 98.3 million views after 24 hours.

Check out their music video below.

With this, they broke the YouTube record for most-viewed video in less than 24 hours, which was previously held by Blackpink’s “How You Like That.”  Blackpink’s music video broke the record two months ago with 86.3 million views in the first 24 hours.

“The song aims to bring a new surge of much-needed ‘energy’ to reinvigorate the global community in the midst of covid-19.”

    According to a press release

However, this isn’t BTS’s first time experiencing this achievement.  Back in April of 2019, their song “Boy With Luv” featuring Halsey had 74.6 million views on the first day.

On top of achieving the most views in 24 hours, “Dynamite” also reached the No. 1 trending spot on YouTube across the world.

They dropped the hit single 6 months after they released their 4th studio album “Map of the Soul: 7.”

BTS will premiere “Dynamite” at the MTV Video Music Awards airing on August 30 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

Earlier this month, BTS also mentioned that their film Break the Silence: The Movie will debut in theaters on September. This is given that the restrictions are lifted and places start opening up. It will appear in more than 70 countries, while other countries (including the U.S.) will release it no September 24.

I myself am not the biggest BTS fan, but I have to admit that the song is pretty catchy. It brings a very happy and positive atmosphere that many people may enjoy during these times.
