In probably the funniest casting ever Chris Evans who we all know and love as dear sweet Captain America, will now be a cruel animal abusing drug fiend. He has been cast as The Dentist in the Little Shop of Horrors remake. Originally the character was played by Steve Martin in the 1986 film directed by Frank Oz.
A while ago a rumor circulated that Lady Gaga could also potentially be cast in the remake. Which would be amazing! But it seems more reasonable that the current rumors of Taron Eagerton playing Seymor and Scarlett Johanson playing Audrey will be more likely to pan out.
First announced in 2016, Greg Berlanti was set to direct the reboot based on a script from Matthew Robinson for Warner Bros. They are reportedly moving forward with it now because the film was approved for the California’s Film & Television Tax Credit Program for the fiscal year of 2019-2020. So if they don’t move on it now they will be losing potentially millions of dollars.
Rick Moranis starred in the original and while it’s always good to go back and watch where something came from, It may be time for a reboot with a more current cast. Though now with Moranis coming out of retirement for Honey, I Shrunk The Kids the reboot, he could potentially make a cameo. Which we sincerely hope he does.
