New ‘Planet Of The Apes’ Film Won’t Be A Reboot

A few days ago there was an article floating around saying that Wes Ball would be rebooting the Planet of the Apes franchise. But that fortunately was not true. He’s posted on Twitter about how ” It’s never been easier for film journalists to actually get in touch with the actual people who actually know… but maybe it’s the point to NOT fact-check these days?” Which is why when we see news like that we tend to wait a few days to write about it. Just in case anything new comes to light.

It’s never been easier for film journalists to actually get in touch with the actual people who actually know… but maybe it’s the point to NOT fact-check these days?

Regardless. Don’t worry. I won’t ruin the surprises, but it’s safe to say Caesar’s legacy will continue…?

    — Wes Ball (@wesball) February 17, 2020

While people were initially upset about what direction the film would take since Disney technically owns the property now, it’s safe to assume that it’s in good hands with Wes Ball. He has famously worked on movies like the Maze Runner and is known for being able to direct very visually appealing films.

While nothing is known of the script for the upcoming movie or the release date, we do have the announcement. And that’s enough to get the speculation rolling on what it could possibly be about. In the tweet he said that Caesar’s legacy will continue. Which could mean that instead of him dying at the end of War For The Planet of The Apes instead they find some way to revive him. OR and this is my hope, the movie features on his actual legacy. His son Cornelius.
