Worried that perhaps the show would rush through the books and source material? Well, I think this news should put that fear to rest.
The Witcher showrunner, Lauren Hissrich, has said that she has seven seasons worth of story planned for the upcoming Netflix fantasy show.

“I’ve [mapped out stories] for seven seasons. Right now it’s just about, ‘how do you set up stories that really capture audiences for years at a time?’”

Talking to SFX magazine for issue 320 (via PCGamesN), Hissrich

“The worst thing we could do is put all of our energies just into season one, and not be thinking about where these characters can grow to.”

The Witcher is a fantasy drama web television series for Netflix. It is based on the book series of the same name by Andrzej Sapkowski. Set to be released on December 20, 2019.

We are glad that they really want to flesh out this television series! Hopefully it will be renewed for that many seasons. With the show just around the corner, we will soon see just how paced the story telling will be. Who knows? It may end up being too slow for viewers. However, it doesn’t seem like the plan is to rush through it.
