During a 10th anniversary screening of Don’t Breathe stars Stephen Lang, Jane Levy, Dylan Minnette, director/co-writer Fede Alvarez, and co-writer Rodo Sayagues gave an update about a 3rd installment. Turns out the script is already done for Don’t Breathe 3. It was also confirmed that Lang and Levy will return to reprise their roles!
The Beyond Fest anniversary screening included a Q&A segment with the cast and crew. During which Alvarez said; “there’s a screenplay for Don’t Breathe 3,” before Lang and Levy confirmed their return to the franchise.
2016’s Don’t Breathe tells the story of 3 delinquents who break into the home of a blind war veteran (Lang) to rob him. However, they soon realize that their intended victim is far from helpless. The 2021 sequel was directed by Sayagues, who once again co-wrote with Alvarez. It saw the return of Lang as The Blind Man, but not of Levy’s role as Rocky.

During a 2021 interview, Sayagues hinted at where a 3rd installment might go. “I think stories are never wrapped. If something is true about the first movie, is that there’s no closure on both ends,” he told ComicBook.com. “There was no closure for the story of Norman and there’s no closure for the story of Rocky. They both got away with a crime, both of them.”
“Rocky stole a lot of money,” he adds. “And also, she let him get away with it. She could have called the police and [said], ‘Look, this guy has a dead girl in the cellar,’ and she did not. So both of them have a past that will haunt them. I think we’re going after the Blind Man first.”
Given that Levy is coming back, this seems like a pretty big clue for the direction of the 3rd film.
